Our Philosophy

In 1993, The Australian Essential Oil Company was started by Bill McGilvray to market 100% pure essential oils distilled from a unique range of plants native only to Australia. The plants, grown in environmentally sound conditions, come either from plantations as a renewable resource, or grow under ecological management on private lands. They are nurtured by experienced native plant farmers, many ‘Eco-Harvest’ Certified or ‘Certified Organic’.

Today, the Australian Essential Oil Company exports 16 different oils to 15 countries of the world, and are proud to be known as one of Australia’s major exporters of tea tree oil. The fresh scent of each essential oil in the AustralessenceTM range captures the essence of Australia’s clean environment with its natural smells and wide open spaces. Each oil is produced using traditional methods and distilled in stainless steel.

Our experienced technical team ensures the quality of our product and offers a comprehensive back-up service. In-house analysis of each order is available through our laboratory and Gas Chromatograph.

Careful production, distillation, processing and packaging, results in a high quality product with a consistency our customers can always depend on. The Australian Essential Oil Company operates under a Quality Assurance system that complies with ISO and E.U. requirements and is certified by the Biological Farmers of Australia.
